This NFT project launched June 11, 2022.

Each NFT sold benefits the Surfrider Foundation, helping to fund ocean awareness and conservation initiatives.

These NFT art pieces are made using items, trash if you will, that has been recovered from the reefs, beaches and coastlines I’ve visited on surf adventures. Old sunglasses that were lost in the shorebreak, fins from surfboards that were ripped out by the kelp or reef, dive masks found drifting along sandy bottoms in Hawaii and surfboards rescued from dumpsters and back alleys.

Each digital NFT has it’s roots in an original art piece that was loving created in a modern take on the ancient form of Gyotaku. The NFT was created using a digital image of the print that was then manipulated for maximum impact .

I believe deeply in giving back to the ocean. I demand action on climate change and I believe that this fight needs funding to make a difference. As a surfer, I was raised to appreciate and understand the interconnected aspects of the ocean. From the healing powers of negative ions created when a wave breaks to the long reaching implications of plastic pollution. By creating opportunities for more people to experience the ocean, we open the door to greater awareness of its importance.

When a piece is sold, I donate 50% of each sales to Surfrider Foundation in the specific area the piece was designed around. I collected the trash in an area, and the funds should go back to support sustainability in the same area.
