A striking piece of surf art / wall art, this elegant surf art is created from a 5’10” Fish shaped surfboard that is lovingly, carefully and creatively dipped into paint, then gently pressed to canvas in order to create a one of a kind impression. A modern interpretation of the ancient art form Gyotaku. This print would be the perfect gift for a surfer, or for a beach themed room.

There’s something magical about catching waves as the day melts into night. The ocean, painted with hues of molten gold, fiery orange, and velvety purple, feels alive—almost like it’s breathing with you. Every swell reflects the sky’s drama, the colors shifting and deepening with each passing moment.

I remember the warmth of the sun on my skin fading, replaced by the cool embrace of twilight. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore became a rhythm, steady and grounding, while the horizon transformed into a living canvas. Each paddle back out to the lineup felt like a brushstroke, every ride on the wave a bold sweep of emotion.

The sunset wasn’t just a backdrop—it was a storyteller. It captured fleeting moments of awe, adventure, and serenity, burning them into my memory like embers that refuse to dim. The colors danced across the water, shimmering and blending in ways words can’t fully describe, and yet, I try to capture them on canvas.

This art piece I painted isn’t just about the ocean or the sunset. It’s about that feeling. The feeling of being completely present, where time slows down and nature reminds you of its boundless beauty. It’s my attempt to hold onto the ephemeral, to share the soul of a sunset session.

The surfboard used is a custom surfboard, shaped by Wave Weapons Surf Shop in Oceanside California.
